IMOG Meetings

International Meeing on Organic Geochemistry (IMOG)

We convene International EAOG Meetings every two years. As of 2012, EAOG member rates for IMOG shall only apply to members that have also continued their membership in the year preceding the IMOG conference. Please follow the links to the individual meetings detailed below:

  • 28th IMOG Florence, 17-22 September 2017IMOG 2017This conference that will be held in Florence (Italy) Will be the first one organized by the European Association of Organic Geochemists in cooperation with the House of Geoscience (HOG). Save the date, details will be given in 2015.
Please feel free to share the information: Here
  • 27th IMOG Praha, 13-18 September 2015IMOG 2015This conference was held in Prague (Czech Republic). Great venue and very pleasant working environment to present our intense Scientific Program. For details, you can access the conferece web page at: 27th IMOG Praha (Last accessed: Oct 2015)

The book of abstracts 929pp. can be accessed Here

  • 26th IMOG Tenerife, 15-20 September 2013This conference was held in Costa Adeje in the Island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain) and dedicated to Prof. Dr. Geoffrey EGLINTON that in the early 60’, together with Dick HAMILTON and the local Prof. Antonio GONZÁLEZ-GONZÁLEZ (1917-2002), developed the biomarker proxi in organic geochemistry when analysing leaf waxes of Canarian endemic Crassulaceae species (see communication OP1-1).

This was another successful IMOG meeting, enjoyable and scientifically sound, attended by 533 participants from 48 different countries. For this IMOG edition there is not a special issue of Organic Geochemistry. From now on, and to expedite publication, the EAOG board decided to label the work presented to IMOG and published in OG so it can be easily traced using conventional searching tools nowadays available.

The book of abstracts “Organic Geochemistry: Trends for the 21st Century” (Vols I y II) 1157pp. (ISBN: 978-84-616-6201-2) can be accessed Here. The document is stored at DIGITAL.CSIC Institutional Repository.

  • 25th IMOG Interlaken, 18-23 September 2011This conference was held in Interlaken, Switzerland. It was a great participation success. The venue at the Kursaal was excelent and the scientific program, including a comprehensive set of short courses, was outstanding. The proceedings volume, was published as a special issue of Organic Geochemistry in 2012 (53, December 2012)

The book of abstracts 665pp. can be accessed Here.

  • 24th IMOG Bremen, 6-11 September 2009This conference was held in Bremen, Germany. The organisation, facilities, socialising and science were excellent. The proceedings volume, was published as a special issue of Organic Geochemistry in 2010 (41, issue 9)

The book of abstracts 610pp. can be accessed Here.

  • 23rd IMOG Torquay, 9-14 September 2007IMOG TorquayThis conference was held in September 2007 in Torquay, U.K. and continues the run of successful meetings. Attendance was over 500 and the weather was good, as were the science and socials! The proceedings volume, was published as a special issue of Organic Geochemistry in 2008 (39, issue 8)The book of abstracts 1120pp. (ISBN: 978-0-9556551-0-4) can be accessed Here.
  • 22nd IMOG Sevilla, 12-16 September 2005This conference was held in September 2005 in Sevilla, Spain and, again, was a resounding success. The proceedings volume, was published as a special issue of Organic Geochemistry in 2006 (37, issue 12)The book of abstracts “Organic Geochemistry: Challenges for the 21st Century” (Vols I y II) 1243pp. (ISBN: 84-689-3661-8) can be accessed Here. The document is stored at DIGITAL.CSIC Institutional Repository.
  • 21st IMOG Kraków, 8-12 September 2003IMOG KrakowThis conference was held in September 2003 in Kraków, Poland and was a scientific and social success. The proceedings volume, was published as a special issue of Organic Geochemistry in 2004 (volume 35, issue 11-12).
